Church Programs and Activities
The teaching, fellowship, and service ministries of Grace Church begin with a
full Sunday School program, including one or two adult classes on Scripture and
topical themes. Women of Grace, a multifaceted women's ministry of the church,
provides meals, holds Bible study and fellowship activities, and coordinates
hospitality needs.
Youth activities, led with the aid of adult
volunteers, center around Presbytery church camp, an annual outreach workcamp to
West Virginia, spring and fall youth rallies, and many informal activities.
Several adults and youth also participated this year in the building of cabins
at the OPC's new Machen Center, and in evangelistic activities at the OPC's
Boardwalk Chapel in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Individuals within the congregation are also encouraged to exercise their
gifts in Christ's name. Members have participated, with the church's support
(such as through bulletin announcements and special-emphasis days), in such
ministries as the Pregnancy Decision Health Center, local holiday meal
distributions, a nearby nursing home, prison ministry, various Ohio State
University outreach activities, international student activities, and assistance
to elderly members of the congregation. Likewise, the Session has encouraged
member-led Bible studies and prayer groups that meet in homes on a weekly or
biweekly basis.
Annual events in the life of the church have included a January
congregational meeting, a Summer church picnic, and a Reformation Celebration
and/or Harvest Dinner near the end of October.
