Vision Statement
Grace Church believes the mission of the church is stated in chapter 25 of the
Westminster Confession of Faith: "Unto this catholic visible church Christ hath
given the ministry, oracles and ordinances of God, for the gathering and
perfecting of the saints, in this life, to the end of the world." To that end,
the Session of Grace Church adopted the following vision statement in 1997:
Our Vision is for Grace Church, Lord willing:
- To develop into a healthy, growing congregation which has about 225 to
450 at its worship services. By our definition ...
- a "healthy congregation" is marked by faithful, vital God-exalting,
Christ-centered. Spirit-filled, Bible-based worship, discipleship,
fellowship, service, and witness, all in a way that is guided by
full-orbed clarity of Biblically reformed and reforming Christianity;
- a "growing congregation" so effectively reaches out that it increases
in size, in structure, in ministries, in influence, and in resources
to serve the Kingdom Of Christ.
- To be instrumental in planting and encouraging healthy, growing
congregations throughout the greater Columbus area - related collegially -
which work together to accomplish what no single congregation can, namely ...
- to impact the greater Columbus area for King Jesus across the whole
spectrum of life (seeking to consecrate to him the arts, education,
business, labor, politics, etc.);
- to recruit, train, and send out men for gospel ministry;
- to plant and encourage healthy, growing congregations throughout our
region, especially Ohio; and to help plant a new Presbytery of the
OPC in this region.
- To participate in seeking revival, reformation, and reconciliation, first
in ourselves, then in the larger Body of Christ around the world.
